Modeling tropospheric ozone and particulate matter in Tunis, Tunisia using generalized additive model

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the sensitivity tropospheric ozone and particulate matter concentrations changes in local scale meteorology with aid meteorological variables (wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity, solar radiation temperature) intensity traffic using hourly concentration NOX, which are measured three different locations Tunis, (i.e. Gazela, Mannouba Bab Aliwa). In order quantify impact conditions precursor on air pollution, a general model was developed where logarithm O3 PM10 were modeled as sum non-linear functions framework Generalized Additive Models (GAMs). Partial effects each predictor presented. We obtain good fit R² = 85% for response variable at Aliwa station. Results show aggregate models explained 29% variance 41% O3.
